A new 30 minute procedure has shown to have a positive results for back pain.
Orthopedic surgeon Dr. Rick Lehman from the U.S. Center for Sports Medicine in Kirkwood stopped by the Fox 2 studio this morning to describe the procedure.
Short term test results show a positive outcome up to one year after the procedure.
The outpatient procedure involves placement of thermal probes into the back part of the disc that cuts into the body causing pain. It is currently in the testing phase until its effectiveness is proven for long term results.
