In Your Corner with CORA: Baseball Injuries – Batters and Base Runners

June 26, 2020

Your Health, Objectively. Treating Everyone Right.

In Your Corner with CORA has tapped into experts from around the country these past few weeks to cover the sport of baseball. Our baseball panels have explored everything from the different signs that your child may be playing through pain to common pitching injuries to overuse and return to play injuries (post-COVID) and now, last but not least, we’ll take a trip around the base pads to address batters and base runners. This week’s panel includes:

  • Dr. Rick Lehman, Director of U.S. Center for Sports Medicine + CEO LehmanHealth
  • Dalton Schumer, DPT – CORA Arnold (Missouri)
  • James Silvestri, PT, MDT – Senior Clinic Manager (Tennessee)

Prevent injuries before they happen by listening to our panel of baseball experts. Their dialogue seeks to provide you with just the right amount of knowledge and education to train and recover as well as demonstrate how PT can help keep you in the game.

What are the most common injuries that occur during base running? How do you train to avoid these and how do you rehab them? Hamstrings, oblique strains, tendonitis, labral tears, and so much more. And although these injuries can be serious, oftentimes it’s pesky soft tissue damage that can linger and keep you sidelined for extended periods of time — longer than they ever should.

CORA is in your corner with experienced partners, larger networks, and the resources available to deliver exceptional care to you — and uniquely for you!
